Mother as Sally Suzuki

This just in from Mother:
Hi honey. Here is the Halloween picture of me dressed up as Sally Suzuki, Beholdmyswarthyface Media Director. Dad was Reginald Denny again. Nothing big this year, just dressed up and walked to Postinos for dinner.

Be good,
Mother

P.S. I'm looking forward to the completion of your Beholdmyswarthyface Encyclopedia of Modern Japan. It's really coming along nicely.

I hope Father looked more like Reginald Denny than Mother looked like Sally Suzuki!

Your entry on Watsuji Tetsurō says that only one of his works is available in English. That's not entirely true. Since 1996, the first half of the first volume of his Ethics has been published by SUNY Press. Also, there are a few other short writings available.

Carl,

Thanks for pointing that out. That particular Britannica entry must have been written before 1996. I'll either edit the entry or add an addendum to it.

Your mother's looking pretty swarthy herself.

Correction: I didn't go as Reginald Denny this year. I went as Samurai Sam, Sally Suzuki’s boy toy.
