Topics in Japanese Literature

This just in from Sally Suzuki:
I've been informed that Beholdmyswarthyface will be teaching an undergrad course in modern Japanese literature at Sophia University this fall. At his request, I put together this tentative course syllabus and class description, which I plan to revise several times before sending in. Have a look and tell us what you think. Thanks, Sally Suzuki.

I'm sorry, Mother. You're over the age limit. What I can do, however, is videotape all of my lectures beforehand and upload them onto Youtube. That takes time, though, so unless you donate to Beholdmyswarthyface.com, it's not going to happen.

The syllabus as it is has way too many readings for an undergrad class. I suggest you cut the number of readings in half. And get rid of the Week 1 readings. They'll have no idea what you're talking about. You need an attention grabber on the first day.
